Where Wonder Sleeps

Where Wonder Sleeps

Where Wonder Sleeps is a collection of short illustrated poems with enchanting read-along rhythms to help soothe the night time nerves of children and wonder into the bed time routine.

The intention for these tales is to be soothing, sensory and shared through either hand-held bed time reading or audio immersion. The publication is part of the mindfulness movement for children embedding the senses and surreal into playful routines.

The tactile fold out concertina format Invites a pop-up sense of dimension to handle, display and discover each adventure panel in sequence. Where Wonder Sleeps represents the first publication within a keepsake ‘concertina collection’. Steeped in sentiment with interactive elements - the idea is that each of these special concertina books contained within a sleeve, becomes part of a box-set or memory box collected across the years.

This particular publication is aimed at an age bracket of 3-6 year olds. It’s genre - poetry and rhymes. Specifically for children that might perhaps find night time tricky and for parents or caregivers who are seeking to make this routine engaging and enchanting at the same time.

Across a 16 panel fold-out concertina, the moon and co-star characters gently guide your child through a series of night time themes including: Star, Glow, Fantasy, Lullaby, Wish, Dreamer, Cosy and Wonder.

Each poem sets a rhythmic scene where sounds become curious details and bring each character or setting to life - from beds in the forest to moon boats, stars with wings and conversations with clouds. There is a gentle flow and energy to each of the concertina panels - like windows into a world beyond for adults and children to step into and explore together - again and again … repeat after me and you will see!
